Motherly love

I’m writing this to my mother. I need her to know, and I need to thank her for the way she brought me up.

I value the good things in life, such as making other people happy, seeing someone smile because of something I’ve said or done. I love the feeling I get from helping people. I’m the sort of person who will offer directions to the lost tourist on a street corner in my hometown - why not, it doesn’t cost me anything and it spreads happiness.

My mother taught me how to be like this, and for that I thank her. She made me see what was important in life, that there is no need to hold on to those things that make you angry or upset or annoyed. If someone bumps into you in the street be the first to apologise, that’s what my mother said. When I do just that I feel good. I consider myself to be an angel not a demon, and for that I thank my mother with all my heart. For she was truly a wonderful woman and that love has made me a better person.
